Gabriel Provost
Gabriel has been self-employed for the past 26 years. He has been a member of the Club Richelieu for the past 25 years. Within that time, Gabriel has been a past president and also has been in receipt of two very prestigious awards. Firstly, in 1991 he was presented with the "Cercle Horace Viau" which is the highest achievement honour award a club member can receive and secondly "Man of the Year" in the Timmins District 4 for having raised funds for Leukemia Research.
Gabriel also has been involved with the Golden Bears Junior "A" Hockey Team by presiding as 1st Chair on their board of Directors.
Gabriel has also been a member of the board of directors at the T&DH Foundation for the last 2 years.
Since October 2007 he has been nominated co-chair of the 2007-2009 "Give...for the Health of it" Campaign along with Dave McGirr. A $5 million campaign which aims to raise funds for the modernization of the Operating Rooms at a cost of $1.2 million, the expansion of the Dialysis Unit and the purchase of new medical equipment worth $3 million, including a new nuclear medicine camera. In February 2008, during the official launch of the capital campaign, Gabriel along with the co-chair announced that the campaign had already reached 50% of its goal. This was an exceptional achievement considering that the campaign had been initiated four months prior
Teena Simpson
Teena has been on the Porcupine United Way Board for many years, held the position of President for two years and is still very active and involved in the many activities and fundraisers for the Porcupine United Way.
Teena volunteers at the Good Samaritan Inn and has been known to dedicate her entire Canada Day weekend to the Rotary Ribfest, ensuring the citizens of Timmins are enjoying themselves and having a great time.
Teena has also served as the Treasurer of the Queen Elizabeth Public School Playground Committee for over ten years. Along with her husband Glenn, and numerous volunteers, she worked tirelessly to have a permanent rink established which is now known as the Queen Elizabeth Royal Simpson Rink.
Passionate about helping others and making a difference, her positive attitude and caring ways make Teena Simpson a positive role model.
Teena has also been involved with the Red Cross, the Anti-Hunger Coalition, the Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels, La Ronde Little League, R. Ross Beattie Senior Public School and many more organizations.
