This free outing explores active mining areas, a reclaimed mine site and offers a look at past, present and future mining activities in the area.&lt;br /&gt;</description>

      <title>Downtown Timmins annual Summer Street Festival </title>

      <description>The Downtown Timmins annual Summer Street Festival is scheduled to take place on Thursday July 8th to Saturday July 10th. Four city blocks will be closed to traffic and transformed into an outdoor shopping court complete with live entertainment, community information booths and children activities. On July 10th, horse drawn wagon rides will be available for a small fee. The ride departs from the corner of Third Ave. and Spruce St. South and travels behind the ONR bus depot and follows the old railway path to Lakeshore Road where it returns to the departure point. Rides will be available from 11am to 5pm.</description>

      <description>On Saturday, June 26,2010, The Porcupine Handweavers and Spinners Guild (founded in 1976) will celebrate fiber week  by having a OPEN HOUSE hosted by Dream Acres Alpaca Farm located at 5590 hwy 101 â  Â½ hr. drive towards Matheson.  Please come and join us from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for some informative displays in the process in the making of fiber . We will take raw fiber from a sheared  alpaca and show the process of Carding, Spinning and Weaving just like it was done by our forefathers.</description>

Sixteen local businesses and entrepreneurs were honoured at the 2010 Nova Business Excellence Awards on Thursday May 7.  Tickets for this yearâs event sold out in record time.  Over 450 members of the business community filled the McIntyre Arena, making this awards ceremony the most well-attended in the eventâs eight-year history.</description>
